Kids Summer Recreation Fair at the HARCC

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History will host a Kids Summer Recreation Fair on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC) from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The fair is free and open to the public.

Summer Hours for Deadwood History, Inc.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History’s Adams Museum, Days of ‘76 Museum, and Historic Adams House will begin summer hours from May 1 through September 30, 2016. Summer hours at all three museums are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., daily.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History’s Historic Adams House will host Patsy’s Day on Saturday, April 23, 2016, in honor of W.E. Adams’ beloved dog, Patsy, and to benefit the Twin City Animal Shelter.

PRESERVATION THURSDAY, APRIL 14 CANCELLED!

John Beheler had a medical emergency. He is unable to travel from Lower Brule to Deadwood to present Preservation Thursday: Mikakuye Oyasin tomorrow (April 14) at 12 noon at the Days of '76 Museum. We will reschedule the presentation with John as soon his schedule allows.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History will host a Prairie Dog Workshop at the Days of ‘76 Museum on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Learning Workshop is $6 for members and $11 for non-members. The workshop is suggested for students in grades K-6. Call Shantel Pettit, Education Director, at 605-578-1657 for reservations. Reservations are required.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. and the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission will host a presentation by John Beheler, South Dakota Humanities Council Speakers’ Bureau Scholar, at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Days of ‘76 Museum, 18 Seventy Six Drive, Deadwood. The event is wheelchair accessible. Please feel free to bring your lunch.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History will offer a collections care workshop, Caring for your Heirlooms, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 5:30p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center. The workshop is free and open to the public. For more information, call 605-722-4800.

DEADWOOD – In honor of Women’s History Month and in conjunction with Deadwood History, Inc. and the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, author and historian James McLaird will present a lecture on Calamity Jane at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Days of ‘76 Museum, 18 Seventy Six Drive, Deadwood. The event is wheelchair accessible. Please feel free to bring your lunch.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. in partnership with the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission will host a series of summer camps for area youth. Children going into grades K-2 for the 2016/2017 school year can participate in camps from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and children in grades 3-6 can participate in camps from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost for each camp is $30 for museum members and $40 for non-members.
