DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. and the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission will host a presentation by John Beheler, South Dakota Humanities Council Speakers’ Bureau Scholar, at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Days of ‘76 Museum, 18 Seventy Six Drive, Deadwood. The event is wheelchair accessible. Please feel free to bring your lunch.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History will offer a collections care workshop, Caring for your Heirlooms, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 5:30p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center. The workshop is free and open to the public. For more information, call 605-722-4800.

DEADWOOD – In honor of Women’s History Month and in conjunction with Deadwood History, Inc. and the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, author and historian James McLaird will present a lecture on Calamity Jane at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Days of ‘76 Museum, 18 Seventy Six Drive, Deadwood. The event is wheelchair accessible. Please feel free to bring your lunch.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. in partnership with the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission will host a series of summer camps for area youth. Children going into grades K-2 for the 2016/2017 school year can participate in camps from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and children in grades 3-6 can participate in camps from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost for each camp is $30 for museum members and $40 for non-members.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History will host a Cave Painting Workshop at the Days of ‘76 Museum on Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Workshop is $6 for members and $11 for non-members. The workshop is suggested for students in grades K-6. Call Shantel Pettit, Education Director, at 605-578-1657 for reservations. Reservations are required.

Deadwood History’s Chinese New Year Party

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History’s Chinese New Year Party will be held at the Adams Museum on Saturday, February 20, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for students in grades K-6. The workshop is $11 per child, and $6 for museum members. Please call Shantel Pettit, Education Director, at 605-578-1657 for reservations or more information. Reservations are required.

DEADWOOD – The seventh annual Calamity’s Shindig will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC). Calamity’s Shindig will include musical entertainment, hors d’ oeuvres, cash bar, as well as silent and live auctions. Tickets are $35 per person and may be purchased by calling 605-722-4800. Reservations required.

DEADWOOD – The Lead-Deadwood High School band will host an evening of music at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC) on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. Night of the Arts is open to the public; admission is by donation and wheelchair accessible.

DEADWOOD – The Lead-Deadwood High School speech and debate team will perform at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC) on Monday, February 8, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. The Bernie Williams Award for History recipients will also be recognized and given a certificate at the beginning of the event. Night of the Arts is open to the public, admission is by donation and the building is wheelchair accessible.
