DEADWOOD – On Friday, November 6, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. until Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 8:00 a.m. children in grades 3 – 7 are invited to spend the night at the Days of ‘76 Museum. Children must have successful sleepover experience and plan to spend the night. All meals are provided. Admission for The Snoozeum is $25 per child or $20 per museum members, plus applicable taxes. Reservations are required, no walk-ins. Space is limited; call Shantel Pettit, Education Director, at 605-578-1657. Children may arrive anytime between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. with their parents to register.

DEADWOOD, S.D. (10/15/15) -- The annual Deadweird Halloween party, with more than $10,000 up for grabs to the best costumes, is set for Oct. 30 and 31 in Deadwood.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History will host the One Book South Dakota Program featuring Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. The discussion will be led by Dr. Joanna Jones at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC), 150 Sherman Street, Deadwood. Refreshments will be served. Deadwood History’s Dinos at the Days Workshop

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History will host Dinos at the Days Workshop at the Days of ‘76 Museum on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Learning Workshop is $6 for members and $11 for non-members. Preservation Thursday: Poets of the Park

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. and the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission will host a presentation by local historian Richard Fisher at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the Days of ‘76 Museum, 18 Seventy Six Drive, Deadwood. The event is wheelchair accessible. Please feel free to bring your lunch.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History and Black Hills Paranormal Investigations (BHPI) will host Paranormal Investigation Tours of the Historic Adams House on October 16 and 17 and October 23 and 24, 2015, at the historic home located at 22 Van Buren Street, Deadwood. Visitors will participate in a real paranormal investigation with professional paranormal researchers. Tours are offered at 6:00, 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for members, $35 for non-members and prices include a t-shirt. You must be at least 12 years old to participate. Ages 12 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Psychic readings with Melissa Teel-Hartman will be available following each tour for $20 per person. Fall and Winter Hours for Deadwood History, Inc.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History’s Adams Museum, Days of ‘76 Museum and Historic Adams House will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday through October 31, 2015. The museums are closed on Mondays. Winter hours will begin in November with the Adams Museum and Days of ‘76 Museum open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Closed Mondays and winter holidays. The Historic Adams House will be closed November through March, but will open for group tours with advanced reservations.

A nationwide event, Museum Day Live! offers free admission to visitors presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket at a participating museum or cultural institution.

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History is proud to present the 6th annual Student Art Show opening reception at the Adams Museum on Friday, September 18, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Donations are greatly appreciated, light refreshments will be served.
